An issue was discovered in Kaseya Unitrends Backup Appliance before 10.5.5. The Unitrends Windows agent was vulnerable to DLL injection and binary planting due to insecure default permissions. This allowed privilege escalation from an unprivileged user to SYSTEM.

ShowMyPC 3606 on Windows suffers from a DLL hijack vulnerability. If an attacker overwrites the file %temp%ShowMyPC-ShowMyPC3606wodVPN.dll, it will run any malicious code contained in that file. The code will run with normal user privileges unless the user specifically runs ShowMyPC as administrator.
